Annual meeting speakers, partners and volunteers
At the 19th Annual Meeting on Nov. 15th guest speakers, Scenic Byway Partners and Member/Volunteers presented fun, amazing and inspirational facts, reports and stories. All reminders of the many wonders and blessings right here - smack dab in the middle of Bunyan Territory.
Keynote Speaker and Minnesota Master Naturalist, Peggy Fowler, introduced guests to the mysterious and strangely beautiful world of fungi, lichen and mushrooms.
Member & volunteer, Mike Schwieters, shared his experiences interviewing and awarding student applicants for the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway's annual 'Linda Ulland Memorial Scholarship'. Mike commented on the impressive qualities, accomplishments and work ethics of local graduates who apply each year for this $1,000 scholarship. We are proud to recognize this year's Scholarship recipient, Morena Hammer, graduate of Pequot Lakes High School.
Crosslake's US Army Corps of Engineers Supervisor, Corrine Hodapp, presented interesting and amazing info about the Corps and in particular, the Crosslake Recreation Area.
