Unusual one-of-a-kind creative "Minnesota" Byway

Audrey Kletscher Helbling was looking for a couple things. The southern Minnesota correspondent for Minnesota Moments magazine was seeking information on unusual/one-of-a-kind/creative "Minnesota" products that would make unique Christmas gifts. She was also looking for something else; something interesting and different in Crow Wing County for a four-part series on Minnesota's 87counties.

The Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway gave her both.

One-of-a-kind and creative is a good description of the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway itself, so it's not surprising that this Minnesota Moments correspondent found that one of the Byway Association's products, the Paul Bunyan playing cards, fit the bill.

"These Paul Bunyan cards are absolutely perfect for my homegrown Minnesota Christmas gift list because they are so Minnesotan. I love these cards, especially the latest pack. I could picture Brady Palmer's creative designs on t-shirts, calendars, notecards, in a children's book," noted Kletscher Helbling.

For the interesting and different, she found the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway Association's Paul Bunyan Exhibit at the Crosslake Army Corps of Engineers Campground's administrative building. Along with Bunyan memorabilia, art, games and toys, music and just about everything else 'Paul', the world's largest Paul Bunyan rag doll is there, seated in a chair that's just his size!

The article providing a list of twelve uniquely Minnesota Christmas gifts will be published in the Nov/Dec holiday issue of Minnesota Moments www.minnesotamoments.com.
