Lucette's Engagement Ring

The legend goes...

In August 2009, Paul and Babe hauled his logging sled into Pequot Lakes via the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway to get it repaired for winter logging.

After the exhausting walk he stopped in Bobber Park, under the big Bobber Tower in Pequot Lakes, to rest in "Paul's Big Chair". He noticed that Merritt Jewelers was having their BIG 26th Anniversary Fuzzy Dice Sale and he decided it was about time to buy his girlfriend, Lucette, an engagement ring.

We don't know how he did it but... Paul rolled a 14 on their BIG Fuzzy Dice, it must be because he is so BIG. When Paul gave Lucette the ring, she was so proud of it, she decided to put it on display at Merritt Jewelers so everyone could see it and admire it.

The ring is a size 144, the same size as one of Sourdough Sam's flapjacks. The stone was discovered in a giant Clamshell in Clamshell Lake, on the Whitefish Chain, and weighs 2500 carats. It is an ideal cut, cut in Ideal Corners and the biggest stone ever set at Merritt Jewelers.
