Paul Bunyan-Sized Thanks to

Roger LaPointe for organizing the event at AmericInn of Pequot Lakes on May 18, 2006 to celebrate the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway’s national designation. Thanks also to the vendors, sponsors and volunteers who made this event possible.

Duane Blanck, Crow Wing County Engineer, for his guidance during the site selection and readiness portion of the Interpretive Panels project this summer. Mike Holst for doing such a great job building and installing the kiosks. And, again our Association’s appreciation to John and Mary Plein for shepherding the production of the panels.

Wayne Chamberlain for handling the purchase and transport of the 16' Larson boat discovered on ebay by Dick Haskett. Thanks to Bertha Marina for storage. This is a replica of the first mailboat used by Ben Knebel in 1939 on his Whitefish route.

Rod Nelson for locating, purchasing, donating, moving the glass display cases now ready for use at the Crosslake Corps Bldg’s Multi-purpose Room.
