Bunyany-fun byway facts and stories

When it comes to Paul Bunyan, having fun is naturally part of it all. Even typically dry facts seem to sparkle with a sprinkle of the big logger’s woodsy wit.

“That’s part of what makes it a lot of fun to talk to groups about the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway,” said co-chair Lynn Scharenbroich.

This spring alone, the PBSBA has already presented to Rotary and Breezy Point Women’s Club. Over the past few years, the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway Association has seen a growing number of requests for presentations from various area groups. “They want to know more about the scenic byway itself. Often several folks in the group think the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway is the same thing as the Paul Bunyan Trail, so it’s a great opportunity to set the record straight on that,” commented Scharenbroich.

This spring alone, the PBSBA has already presented to Rotary and Breezy Point Women’s Club.

Listeners learn about the Federal Highway Administration’s ‘America’s Byways’ program, the State of Minnesota’s twenty-two scenic byways and Explore Minnesota’s byway marketing, the fifteen year history of the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway itself, as well as Bunyany-fun byway facts and stories. Scharenbroich reminds listeners that there will be a quiz at the end of her presentation. The quiz acts like a jolly review and results in a few celebratory byway prizes for those who answer their questions correctly.
