Cycling on the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway

MS TRAM 2010 brings over 1,000 bicyclists to Pequot Lakes on July 27.

Star Tribune TRAM Ride 2010 takes cyclists on one large loop through the beautiful Central Lakes region of Minnesota — riding through Alexandria, Little Falls, Pequot Lakes, Wadena and Fergus Falls, and finishing back in Alexandria.

Don’t miss the chance to experience Minnesota from the seat of your bike and enjoy five nights of small town hospitality. Hand-picked roads, beautiful campsites, Midwest cookin' and homegrown entertainment are just some of the things that have made this tour the "Ultimate Minnesota Road Trip" for more than 20 years.

Participants must raise a minimum of $300 in order to ride. Interested? Click here for more info.

The Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway area is a great getaway location for cycling and rollerblading enthusiasts. Most of the 54-mile byway route has smooth, wide paved shoulders marked for non-motorized travel. With gentle hills and scenic panoramas, the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway meets the Paul Bunyan State Trail, a rails to trails project, at four locations. There are many pleasant spots along the way to stop for a rest, a cool beverage and tasty snack, or a refreshing dip in the lake.

Don't have your own bike, or didn't bring one with you? No problem! Bicycle rentals are available from Cycle, Path and Paddle.
